Brett Cook names the Wentworthville Magpies side to take on the Wests Tigers in Round 2 of the VB NSW Cup at Leichhardt Oval.
Cook has named Vai Toutai at fullback for the match up, with Ryan Matterson and Luke Kelly continuing their partnership in the halves.
Despite a strong finish, Wenty were handed a 14-point defeat by the North Sydney Bears in Round One, and will be looking to bounce back in their Round 2 clash. Click through to see the Round One highlights and match report.
Magpies Head Coach Brett Cook commented on last week’s performance, “It was a disappointing result and not a good way to start the season but hopefully this week we will rectify a few things,” he said.
“The big thing we need to rectify is the energy they come to the game with. We were out enthused on the weekend by Norths and everything that we wanted to bring to the game we didn’t, and the other team did, and that’s why they got the win”
“We can look at the positives during the second half, especially the way the guys came back in the second half and scored 16 points.”
“North’s didn’t get their last try til a minute to go, and there was a fair bit of defence we had to do, so there was definitely a better attitude in the second half. We just gave them too much start.”
