Eels stars win Dally M honours

Abbi Church and Zali Fay each won their first Dally M award at the NRL’s night of nights on Wednesday.

The Parramatta pair were awarded two of the NRLW’s top honours, capping off a memorable year for the Eels Women’s side.

Abbi Church was named Dally M Fullback of the Year, on the back of her strongest season in the NRLW.

The Eels no. 1 edged Tamika Upton and Teagan Berry to win the award.

Church came incredibly close to claiming the overall Dally M Player of the Year award, falling just two points short of top spot in a race which came down to the final game of the season.

Her selection in the Dally M Team of the Year comes after she won both Players' Player and the Blue & Gold Army Award at the Eels' NRLW Awards Night.

Zali Fay won NRLW Try of the Year for her spectacular effort against the Roosters in Round 9.

The Eels winger set CommBank Stadium alight when she soared onto a cross-field kick by Rachael Pearson, leaping over her opposite number to find the try line while being tackled in the air.

Another six nominations came Parramatta's way at the 2024 Dally M Medal across the NRL and NRLW.

Shaun Lane was a finalist for the Ken Stephen Medal, while Joe Ofahengaue was nominated for the Provan-Summons Medal for his act of sportsmanship aiding an injured Josh Curran in Round 14.

Mahalia Murphy earned nominations for both the Veronica White Medal and NRLW Team of the Year, while Elsie Albert and Steve Georgallis were among the contenders for Prop of the Year and Coach of the Year, respectively.
