Rory Owen re-signs with the Eels

The Parramatta Eels are delighted to announce Rory Owen has agreed to a two-year extension to remain at the Club until at least the end of 2026.

The RLPA 2024 Rookie of the Year ignited the NRLW competition this season, scoring a try on debut in Round 1 against the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium. The composed 20-year-old started every game at centre, finishing the season with an impressive five tries from nine matches.

Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill said, “The Parramatta Eels are thrilled that Rory Owen has decided to stay an Eel for the next two seasons. Rory is an exciting talent who has burst onto the scene and quickly established herself as a future star of the game.”

The former Rugby 7’s player said she was excited to rejoin her teammates in the Blue & Gold next year.

“I have really enjoyed my first season in the NRLW, and I appreciate the support that the Parramatta Eels, my teammates, and our supporters have given me,” said Rory Owen.

“I am incredibly grateful to coach, Steve Georgallis, and fellow teammates Mahalia Murphy, Abbi Church, Kennedy Cherrington and Rachael Pearson who have guided me in my first year of rugby league.

“I think I have a lot to offer the NRLW. I love footy and I love the environment at the Eels, and how you can see it growing. There is a big future for the NRLW, and I am excited to be a part of it,” she said.

“I am proud to play for this Club and I look forward to pulling on the Eels jersey again in 2025 and entertaining our passionate fans,” she added.
