The Parramatta Eels are pleased to announce the signings of Matt Doorey and Toni Mataele.
Matt Doorey has signed a two-year deal to join the Club beginning immediately until the end of the 2024 season.
The 22-year old second-rower has played 18 NRL games for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs since 2020 and brings depth to the edge.
Doorey was a Parramatta junior who came through the Club’s elite pathways program.
Toni Mataele has extended his contract to remain at the Eels until the end of 2025.
Mataele is currently on a development contract and will form part of the NRL top 30 squad from 2024.
General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill welcomed the announcements.
“Both Matt and Toni have returned to the Eels after brief stints at other NRL clubs so it is exciting to be welcoming back these two quality players to our Club,” O’Neill said.
“They will strengthen our backrow stocks and we look forward having them both at pre-season training in preparation for a successful 2023 season,” he said.
