Eels' 75 Years: Top Five - #1

Join us as we count down the top five moments and memories of the Parramatta Eels’ 75-year history.

Number One: The Eels achieve premiership 'threepeat'

The early 1980s was the most successful period for the Parramatta Eels.

Eels' 75 Years: Parra complete 'threepeat'

Their 'threepeat' is an accomplishment that hasn't been matched for almost 40 years and capped a golden era for the Club.

Under the influence of coach Jack Gibson, the team boasted names such as Ray Price, Peter Sterling, Peter Wynn, Eric Grothe Sr., Steve Ella, Mick Cronin, and Brett Kenny.

They managed three consecutive premierships from 1981 to 1983, beating the Newtown Jets in 1981 and arch-rivals the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in 1982 and 1983.

Watch as Eels' legends Michael Cronin, Steve Edge, Peter Wynn, Eric Grothe Sr., Brett Kenny, Ray Price and Peter Sterling reflect on the feat.
