Dear Members and Fans,
Following the announcement of the NRL’s response to COVID-19, I wanted to take this opportunity to provide an update on your Club’s response to the current situation.
As you know the challenges presented by this situation are effecting all parts of society including our workplaces, schools and various sporting and community groups.
The Parramatta Eels are in close consultation with the NRL and the relevant State and Federal Government authorities to ensure we respond appropriately to the situation. Based on current advice, it is likely that, beginning in Round 2, all NRL games will be played behind closed doors until further notice.
We are undertaking a great deal of contingency planning to be prepared for this unprecedented situation, with a focus on understanding and addressing the impact on players, staff and importantly our loyal members and supporters who remain at the forefront of everything we do.
Your commitment and passion for our Club has been fantastic already in 2020 through our highest ever Membership tally of nearly 27,000 and our strongest opening Round 1 crowd for a number of years.
We will continue to update you as we receive greater clarity andendeavour to answer any questions you may have in relation to the unfolding situation.
For the moment, we are asking for your help on several fronts:
· Our offices at Kellyville Park will be closed to external visitors however our membership team remain available online atmembership@parraeels.com.auand via 1300 258 346 -9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
· Upcoming Club functions are postponed including our interstate signing sessions until further notice.
· Please hold onto your tickets. Fans who have purchased casual tickets for our home game in Round 4 will receive a refund. We will provide more information on this process in the coming days.
· We will need time to assess the situation for Members so we appreciate your patience while we work through this unprecedented situation.
We will continue to provide as much access as possible through our digital channels and resume our normal practices as soon as possible.
2020 has already seen our Club unite together more than ever before - I am sure we will all work together to rise above the challenges we are facing as a Club, a Game and a Community.
