The Parramatta Eels have today revealed their 2018 Home and Away Jersey with new apparel partner ISC.
The new Jersey takes inspiration from the “Thornett Jersey” – the jersey worn by Club Legends Ken and Dick Thornett during the 1960’s and 70’s – featuring the iconic blue and gold hoops which represents the foundation of the Club.
“We wanted a jersey that represented the Parramatta Eels and its rich history. There was a strong wish to create a Parramatta Eels identity. Consistent with a traditional jersey and our Club’s history, we also wanted to return to our “blue and gold” colours” said Parramatta CEO Bernie Gurr, “we have reverted to the slightly darker, marine blue of earlier eras and changed to a genuine gold from the recent yellow colour. We think both the marine blue and gold are rich, powerful colours.”
“We consulted with Parramatta Eels fans and there was strong support for the traditional “Thornett Jersey”. We worked extensively with our apparel partners ISC on creating this direction for the 2018 Home and Away Jerseys. We have created a jersey that is a powerful, traditional, Rugby League-looking set of playing strips for our 2018 Parramatta Eels.”
Brett Corrick of ISC said “The value of a Jersey to a sporting club and its fans is the very fabric of sport. The Parramatta Eels represents one of the Australia’s strongest sporting brands, and we are proud to have developed the 2018 Jersey’s that are very much in line with the tradition of this great club.”
