Dyldam Parramatta Eels hooker Isaac De Gois says he’s stepped naturally into the role of senior player since joining the Blue and Gold at the end of June.

De Gois says his instructions from the coach have been simple, and his relationship with the up-and-coming Eels pack has evolved as a result.

“This is a very young team as everyone knows,” De Gois said.

“I’m an old bloke in this team turning 30 this year, and there are blokes in this team who are 18, 19. It’s crazy really!”

“I’ve been playing the game for a long time, [and Brad Arthur] just said do your thing, follow the game plan and bring to the team what you bring.”

“Honestly, it’s been great, getting some good game time and the boys here have been very welcoming as well as the coaching staff.”

“I give them feedback and they give me feedback on what they want and it’s going well.”

“They’re willing to work for each other and put in for each other and I think it’s showing on the field.”
