Dyldam Parramatta Eels Head Coach Brad Arthur has pointed to the Eels’ attitude as the key to their Round 20 win against the Gold Coast on Saturday night.
While he admitted the side’s execution could still improve, Arthur and his team welcomed the win after a lean four weeks of competition.
“There was a little bit of relief in the sheds after the game,” Arthur said.
“I think we played a little bit ‘nervous’, but we managed to scrap, and hang on, and compete. It just shows that if we’re willing to compete, and roll our sleeves up and come with a good attitude, we’re good enough to match it.”
“Now we just need to be better with our execution; we can’t continually break the line and create opportunities and not come up with the right play.”
“We bombed 5 or 6 tries I reckon, and we’re getting pretty good at that, at not taking our opportunities.”
“But we played good field position, it was just a matter of wearing them down in the end, which we did.”
