Dyldam Parramatta Eels five-eighth Corey Norman says after a 42-24 win against the Cronulla Sharks, the Blue and Gold need to lift as the season rolls on.

Next up, the Eels face the St George Illawarra Dragons at home at Pirtelk Stadium, and Norman says defence will be their focus heading into the game.

“It’s good to get another win, but there’s still plenty to work on,” Norman said.

“We leaked 24 points which is not good; if we want to be there at the end of the year we need to fix that.”

The Dragons come into the Round 10 match up smarting from a 38-6 loss to the Bulldogs, and Norman says he’s hoping a vocal Parramatta crowd will support the Eels against a rebounding Red V side.

“Things are going well, and we love playing [at home], especially when the fans get out and cheer us on. When times get tough and the crowd gets behind you it gives you that little bit of energy.”

“They’re coming off a tough loss, so obviously they want to prove to their fans they’re going to do well this year.”
