Jarryd Hayne has been named to return to the Pirtek Parramatta Eels side when they come up against the Manly Sea Eagles next Monday night at Brookvale Oval.

We spoke to head coach Ricky Stuart today, and he says he's recovering very well.

"He's in the position where [Head of Physical Preparation and Performance] Trent Elkin and [physiotherapist] Vicki are both quite positive in regards to his steps; he's a bit sore now, but had a very big session yesterday," Stuart said.

"Medically I think he'd need to be fairly healthy by the back end of our week, it's not do or die to get him onto the football field, the main priority is Jarryd's wellbeing and we definitely won't risk him in regards to rushing him back."

"He'd be an attribute to have on the field if we can get him right, it'd also be great to get a game under his belt before Origin III, which would be a great preparation."

"His preparation for Origin has been good, but the best plan is Jarryd Hayne's physical wellbeing. We don't want to put him at any risk in regards to aggravating or having ongoing issues with it."
