EELS WORLDWIDE #2 – CHRISTOPHER SENIOR
2.40pm, Thursday 9 October 2008

Congratulations to Christopher Senior of Perth, Western Australia, our second Eels Worldwide entrant!

Christopher grew up in the north of England, and is a lifelong supporter of English Super League giants Leeds as well as English Championship football side Leeds United.

His connection to the Blue and Gold of Leeds sparked an interest in Australia’s Blue & Gold, the Parramatta Eels, and in particular Peter Sterling, Brett Kenny, and Eric Grothe senior, who he saw play for the great Kangaroo touring teams of the 1980’s.

For the past 22 years, Christopher has called Perth home – read his story below.

Eels Worldwide questionnaire

Name: Christopher Senior

Age: 56

Occupation: Building Designer

Current Location: Perth, Western Australia

What inspired you to move to/live in your current location: I moved to be with a Perth girl who I met whilst she was working in Leeds, UK.

Length of time spent in current location: 22 years.

Where were you born: Horsforth near Leeds, Yorkshire.

How long have you been an Eels supporter: Over 30 years.

Who/what made you an Eels supporter: I lived in Leeds when the great Australian team which featured Sterling, Grothe and Kenny (amongst many other greats) toured Great Britain.  They were fantastic and as all my favourite players came from the Parramatta Club they were my first choice as an Australian Club to support.  They also wore the same colours as the Leeds RL Club who I had supported as a boy.

Do you get to see the Eels play and if so, how: I see them on TV here in Perth, very late!

How hard is it supporting the Eels from where you live: Easy, just a click away on my ''Favourites'' list.

What do you like most about where you live: Perth is a absolutely fantastic place to life and work.  It is a great place to bring up children.

When is your next visit to Parramatta Stadium planned: One day!!!! Along with my visit to Headingley (for RL, Union and Cricket), Elland Road (to see Leeds United), the MCG (to see Australia play England, I support Australia), Dolphins Stadium (Miami) and the new Wembley, just to see it, mind you it would be great to see Leeds United play there in the FA Cup Final again (I went to the old one).
